The Aprazível restaurant is located in the charming Santa Teresa district and combines refined gourmet food with a surprising city view. Opened in 1997 by Minas Gerais chef Ana Castilho, it offers artisanal food with French touches, using regional cuisine elements from different parts of Brazil.

The rustic ambiance brings to mind a country farm, and the property is surrounded by century-old fruit trees – bearing mango and avocado, for instance – and has a beautiful garden with a bed of bromeliads. The restaurant offers a bird’s eye view of Rio de Janeiro, specially the city center and Guanabara Bay.

On a separate building, the Botequim do Souza Santa Cana bar brings to Santa Teresa the relaxed atmosphere of country pubs, offering a vast cachaça list, with brands from several different regions of Brazil.
