About Rio Film Commission
ObjectivesFilme Rio - Rio Film Commission (FRRFC) was created in 2009 from a partnership between the State Secreteriat of Culture and RioFilme with a mission to attract audiovisual productions of any format and content to both city and the state of Rio de Janeiro
In order to fulfill this objective, FRRFC provides producers with political, technical, legal, infrastructural and logistical support, always working towards strengthening local professionals, service providers, technology and industries. It’s also responsible for publicizing outstanding locations for film and video shoots in the capital city as well as in the state’s several other municipalities.
Finally, it’s up to FRRFC to guide producers every step of the way so as to guarantee that their work in Rio is pleasant and safe.
Other duties
Meet the needs of national and international audiovisual producers
Seek out economically relevant productions to be shot within the city and state of Rio de Janeiro
Help create fiscal incentives for audiovisual productions
Introduce a simple and standardized system to process and issue shooting permits
Establish partnerships and technical cooperation agreements with governmental and civil authorities
Promote the development of courses and workshops to improve the workmanship of professionals in the audiovisual sector
Offer logistical support to audiovisual productions;
Represent the city and state of Rio de Janeiro at national and international audiovisual industry events
Stimulate the development of studies about the economy of the audiovisual industry
